Never use an open flame
The American Red Cross advises against using blowtorches, propane or kerosene heaters, and other open-flame devices to thaw pipes. If a frozen area cannot be found or accessed, or cannot be thawed safely, contact a licensed plumber. Do not use electrical heating equipment in standing water.
Thawing and repair are different jobs
